His radio career began in his hometown at KTRF in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and moved into on-air positions at KCLD in St. Cloud, KQRS Minneapolis and KBPI Denver. Joel programmed KJYO Oklahoma City and legendary Dallas stations KEGL and KDGE. He also was program director at KDWB in Minneapolis. He has worked with some of this country's best radio personalities. Joel has a great reputation as a talent coach. At one point the night talent on Z100 New York and KIIS Los Angeles were both benefactor's of Joel's training. Joel Folger graduated from Moorhead State University in Minnesota, majoring in communications.
